Welcome to Bhangazi Horse Safaris! Book your ride today to experience game viewing with a difference...
Bhangazi Horse Safaris operates horseback riding trails and safaris in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park (formerly Greater St Lucia Wetland Park), an amazing game park in Zululand, KZN, South Africa. This is an incredible corner of Africa, so fantastic it is classified a UNESCO World Heritage Area; South Africa’s first!
We base our horse trails and safaris in sunny St Lucia, just a 3 hour drive north of Durban. St Lucia is a small coastal town, surrounded by the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. We cater to riders of all levels from complete novice to the very experienced. All rides are accompanied by a lead guide and back up rider which allows us to split the group if we have mixed abilities within the group.

We welcome anyone over the age of 6 and under 95kg, with each of our rides catered to suit each individual riders skill level. A lead guide and a back up guide accompany all our rides, this allows us to split our groups if we have riders wanting to trot and/or canter and others preferring to walk.
St Lucia is the gateway to the Eastern Shores and Western Shores of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, offering an amazing variety of habitats, including wetlands, coastal forests, beautiful beaches and coral reef's and the spectacular Lake St Lucia. St Lucia boast much to do, with activities such as horse trails and safaris, day or night game drives in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park or Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Park, whale watching, turtle tours, snorkelling at Cape Vidal, kayaking on Lake St Lucia, cultural tours and plenty more!
We have the highest bird count in all of Africa, the southern-most breeding spots for turtles in Africa, Africa's tallest forested dunes, the largest remaining stands of sand forest, the biggest peat beds in the Southern Hemisphere and vast wetlands.... and all of this runs between the enormous St Lucia lake/estuarine system and alongside 220 kilometres of pristine beaches and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, where turtles nest, whales often pass on their way to breed just a little further north in Mozambique and dolphins play in the surf.
